May I introduce myself as well? I am Jana (from Germany) and I arrived in Évora at the 28. January 2009 in the late afternoon. Welcomed by fat rain clouds and, what a surprise, rain, I had to drag my suitcase, already damaged in Lisbon, through mud and over cobblestones. I was tired, fed up with my muddy, damaged, overloaded suitcase but also curious and excited about what was there to come.
Wow, living abroad, such a huge step, nobody I know closer ever did this before, amazing!
Well it turns out to be just a normal live. A lot of things are very different here of course. But basically you are who - and what - you are. That doesnt change just because you move. In that sense you could also move to the appartment next door. I think, thats the most important thing I realized since I am here.
