Feira de São João

Tomorrow 23.06.2010 starts the feira de São João in Évora.
It would probably be the most normal thing in the world, if we didnt live in front of Rossio, where the feira takes place. All the streets around Rossio are closed and for one week before its start everything is nice and calm, apart from the building trucks moving backwards:pin pin pin pin, horrible annoying noise.
From tomorrow on the POINT is right here, in front of our house for 2 long weeks.

In 2009, the feira was really intense. Arianne and Karine were still in Portugal and we could enjoy some days of caipirinha and cheap food. Me, Dulce, Lili, Victor and the kids would wonder around the fairs and the enthusiasm of people from everywhere would meet us in Rossio.

Last year however, at this time of the year the weather was hotter and it was the final week of exames at the University. The music of the festa starts at 13:00 and goes till 2:00am. I simply couldnt study because one of the music stereos hangs on a pole right in front of my window.
Knowing about this amazing fact, this year I decided to be vigilant. I was constantly waiting for the people that would install the stereos. And the day arrived:
Yesterday, monday, I had a test in the morning and decided to wake up around 6:30 am to study a bit more.
I showered and went to my room. As I move the curtain the guy was fixing the stereo on the pole and said. HEYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! as he saw me.
I was rolled on the bath towel and got to the window to say: Sir, can you keep the speaker facing Rossio and not my window?
He couldnt say No to a woman rolled in a towel at 6:30am!!!!!
Problem fixed.
