That is one of my favorite quotes from the Lord of the Rings. Why, it holds so much endearment to me because is a reflection of how friends provide you with comfort, even in the most stressing situations.

When I came to live and work at Evora I was kind of dissapointed. Evora is a small and uncaring place. For long I had no friends and held silence as my only companion. But it turned out to be a good place. Here I met wonderful people who shared their time with me and for reasons unknown even liked me.

This leads me to realize how lucky I am; and how even at the end of the world one can find happiness: it only takes good friends.

I can not list all the good people I leave behind, with sorrow, but alas, that too can not be avoided. It pains me that this period of my life comes to an end, because I would have rather stay and enjoy a little bit more of this. True as that might be, that is not the reason why I write this entry. I write to let you all know you made me happy. That the support you gave to my life came to fruition in the form of total and absolute well being. Without you guys I would be nothing more that an empty shell. The time you spent with me has made me strong and loving. Finally I can take off and take care of my life, as it must be done. But first I want to thank you for everything; for all the good things that we created in our everyday life and hope that you too were touched, if only a little, by the existence of this, your most humble friend.

Here, at the end of my stay in Evora, I am glad to have had your friendship guys!!!
